Europe-Palestine Relations – Poland and Palestine

This report examines the strong ties between Poland and Israel, alongside the complex relations between Poland and Palestine. Driven by shared Jewish heritage, increasing tourism, and robust trade relations exceeding $1 billion in 2017, Poland and Israel's partnership is reinforced by the presence of around 250,000 Israelis of Polish origin and growing Israeli investments in Poland. The two countries align on security issues, but their relationship is complicated by historical tensions surrounding the Holocaust, which often dominate state-level discussions. Meanwhile, Poland's stance towards Palestine is also explored, highlighting the balancing act the country faces amid these interconnected relationships. Efforts by private individuals are underway to reframe ties with Israel beyond historical grievances to strengthen cooperation moving forward.
