More than 100 Palestinians have been detained by Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank in just one week, including children, journalists and a former prisoner recently released in a prisoner exchange.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said Israeli forces have intensified raids across the territory, with Palestinians reportedly subjected to field interrogations, physical assaults and threats against family members. Homes have been searched and damaged, with some reportedly occupied by soldiers during raids.
In one operation, Israeli forces arrested 15 Palestinians in the town of Burqa after raiding homes for six hours. Elsewhere, soldiers detained Palestinians in Beitunia, damaging a home before taking two men to an Israeli prison, while a house was demolished in Battir.
The arrests are taking place alongside escalating attacks by Israeli settlers, including assaults on Palestinians, road blockades and attacks on vehicles. The Prisoner’s Society said these attacks frequently occur under the protection of Israeli forces.
Among those detained were journalists Muath Amarneh and Sabri Jibril, as well as Ahmad al-Sayfi, a former prisoner who had been released in a recent exchange deal.
The latest wave of arrests comes as settler attacks and military operations intensify across the West Bank, with Palestinian communities facing growing violence, displacement and restrictions on movement.
