Israel Kills Three Palestinians in Gaza, Wounds 15

At least three Palestinians were killed and 15 others wounded in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday, medical sources told Al Jazeera, as Israel continued strikes despite the October ceasefire.

One of those killed, 28-year-old Osama Naim Shamlakh, died in an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in Gaza City's Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood. The attack, which involved two missiles, also wounded nine civilians, according to Anadolu.

In a separate strike, Israeli forces hit a police post near the at-Twam roundabout in northwest Gaza City, wounding four officers. One of them, 36-year-old Thaer Ramzi Fayyad, later died of his injuries. The identity of the third victim was not immediately known.

Elsewhere, an Israeli air raid struck a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, while another attack targeted a vehicle on al-Rashid Street in az-Zawayda. A separate strike wounded a young man in the Maghazi refugee camp.

Israeli forces also continued expanding the territory under their control inside Gaza, moving concrete barriers to within about 200 metres of Salah al-Din Street in Gaza City's Shujayea neighbourhood, raising concerns that civilians using the road could be targeted.

Palestinian officials say Israel has repeatedly violated the October ceasefire. Gaza's Ministry of Health says Israeli ceasefire violations have killed 1,108 Palestinians and wounded 3,578 others. The ministry also says Israel's military campaign since October 2023 has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians.
