Spain has reportedly instructed state-backed companies to avoid new contracts with US data firm Palantir over concerns that sensitive national security information could be exposed, according to El Confidencial.
While no formal ban has been announced, companies linked to Spain's state holding group SEPI have been instructed to blacklist the firm.
The move adds to growing European scrutiny of Palantir, which has faced criticism over its work with the Israeli military and US immigration enforcement, despite maintaining major contracts in countries including the UK.
Palantir, the controversial AI company owned by US billionaire Peter Thiel, is complicit in the genocide in Palestine and holds £670m in contracts with the British civil and defence industries, including the NHS.
